I Finished!!

I finished the sweater for my sister! She was wearing it this morning when she left. 64 degrees out calls for a good sweater!
She is a nurse and always wears a sweater to work. In Charleston, SC they keep the air conditioning kind of cool I guess in the hospital so she needs it. Made the sleeves 3/4 length, didn't want them getting in her way while she worked.

Really like the buttons too! She wears navy blue scrubs for work and I think the color of the buttons will co-ordinate nicely.

Olivine Sweater Done

Ah! Finished! I'm really please with this sweater! The pattern wasn't the easiest to read when I first started, but once I got going and figured out how the designer was writing, it became easier.

Now my problem is... what is next? Still haven't figured that out yet. Why?

Decisions, decisions, decisions! And no answers!

Typically when I'm nearing the end of a knitting project I have 5 ideas in my head for what is next. This time however, I'm at a bit of a loss! I know it is crazy!!

Do I want to make Faith a dress for summer?
This is a great pattern that I've made 3 times now, but.... nah! this one still fits well.

Do I want to make another felted bag?
I don't think so. There isn't a need yet for another felted bag.

My brother Bill will be turning 50 in May 2011. I could go ahead and knit him a sweater for that and give it to him early so he can get plenty of use from it through this coming winter.
Still plenty of time to do that, no need to start now! Plus I need to buy yarn to make it and I really should be using stash!

Well I could just focus on finishing the pair of socks I'm working on.
That won't work! They are more than 75% finished too!

Great! Now I've realized I also need to figure out what socks I'm casting on next!

Ugh! Any ideas? Anyone?

On the Needles

Wanted to show you what I have on my knitting needles now:
Made with Louet Riverstone in Hunter Green. (Sorry Mike decided the color would look better on me!)
Hope that will turn into this:
Some basic rib socks:
Falling crazy in love with this Nichole yarn. Started a pair of socks with a pattern, but frogged them because the pattern was lost in the wonderful colorway of the yarn.

A Cool Morning Photo

It was cool enough out this morning to put on my new sweater and take a couple photos. Wanted to share with you. I'm pleased with the way it turned out.

Summer's End

Here is my newest sweater! Finished it Monday. It still needs to be blocked and buttons added (haven't bought them yet), but I am soo excited couldn't wait to share it.

This photo really shows the tweed of the yarn.

Will try to remember to post a photo of me wearing it.

The pattern is Summer's End, using Plymouth Tweed.

For Your 50th Birthday

(Joe or Susan if you have happened to log in to read this post, please turn around and leave, just this once. Don't want to ruin your birthday surprises.)

My brother and his wife both turn 50 next month, and I've knitted them each a little something. Well in advance of their birthday's I might add. This makes me quite proud and I hope they love them.

(that's my son modeling the sweater, he is too funny)

I made Susan another pair of socks, but knit those back in March, and the pictures are no longer on my computer. But, you get the idea.

Another Sweater Made

The other night I finished the sweater for Jacob. I'm so thrilled. I love it when I complete such a big project. I have been trying every winter to knit each of us a sweater and this is the first for the family this winter. I'm going to work on a few small Christmas projects and then I'll get back to the family knitting.

He plans to wear it to church tonight, and that makes me feel real good.

Knitted Gifts

Mom & Laura, Do not read this post!

Here it is the sweater I made my mother for Christmas.

I bought the pattern and yarn back in April. Stored them, packed them, and then moved them to Virginia. Strated it September 10 and finished it yesterday. Hopefully she will get some use out of it in Florida!! Now that she is 70, she is cold more often than not! LOL

Now that I'm on a role with knitting and giving it away. I decided to make my sister Laura something for her 50th birthday coming in November. She apprciated her purse so much. I started this wrap last night out of a beautiful alpaca yarn. She should get plenty of use out of it in Utah!!
