Good Day!

Father Kelly never made it here for dinner last night. Guess there were things too important at the hospital and nursing home. Completely understandable for a pastor of 2 parishes. We'll reschedule.

It is too bad because I was remarkably calm all day about his visit. The kids were a big part of that. They jumped right in to making our house presentable, without being asked and I was able to focus on the food. NOW that I know how willing they are to make their new home presentable for visitors, I'm thinking of who else we can invite!

With the house all clean and the kids working on school, that leaves me to finish Haley's sweater. I have less than an hour worth of work and she should be able to wear it to church tonight. I'll post a picture later.

It looks like it should be an awesome day!

  1. Good that you were calm about the visit although unfortunate about your priest not being able to make it. When I get stressed about cleaning the house and stuff for guests, I think of the story in the Bible with Mary and Martha preparing for Jesus' visit. While it was important to them to have everything clean and nice for Him, Mary showed what was most important by dropping everything and just enjoying time with her guest. That said, I am sure your house is beautiful and clean and your cooking is always delicious. While your phobia is understandable and springs out of genuine kindness and wanting to make a visit special, I don't think you have much to worry about. You're a great hostess and have great helpers :)
