Small Successes

FaithButton

It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.

  1. I was able to hang every load (except towels) on the clothes line this week. I'm confident this helps keep the electric bill in check.
  2. Cleaned the girls closet with their help. Also took the bag of hand-me-down clothes to a family we go to church with who has 2 little girls. This is a huge accomplishment!! Usually the bag will sit in my car for several months and it was only there for a day or two.
  3. Took my urine sample the doctor wanted me to drop off for analysis. Remember I was sick a few weeks ago? She wanted to be sure everything had cleared up. I am not good about following up with extra doctor orders like this!! So I am counting this as an accomplishment. Probably good that I did because I need to do it again in a couple more weeks. Now the question remains will I be good again about it?
Thank you Lord for a wonderful week! I had a few moments of feeling low, but I tried to remain focused that what I do brings glory to you even if it doesn't contribute to our finances. Also had some blue moments of missing dad, but prayers again got me through.

  1. Great week! Hang clothes on the line is a nice thing, we don't have a line. In this humidity, i think it would take a week to dry anything!
Way to go, on 2 & 3. I'm guilty on both counts as well!

  2. When I hang clothes, the towels are always the first. I really enjoy the crispiness of hang dried towels. (Is that weird?) And I always have bags of things laying around that I mean to give to someone. Yay for you! I love your little accomplishments! Here are mine:
    1. Responded well to the billion times Emma asked me, "Mama? Your baby died? You don't have a baby in your tummy anymore?"
    2. Put together a big bag and a big box of stuff to give to a family whose house burned down this week in our area.
    3. Resisted the urge to feel (extremely) sorry for myself when I missed the birth of my buddies baby.

    Not too shabby! :)

  3. You had a very good week, and are still in my prayers. Your little angel in heaven will always know you and you will some day look upon his/her face.

You aren't weird to like the crispiness of air dried towels. I do myself. Like a free loofah!! I don't hang them at the request of my dear husband. He is bald and he said it is just too rough on his head! Poor guy!

  4. Great week! I really think I need to look into getting a clothes line. I used to love hanging clothes on the line when I was a kid.

  5. I need to hang our laundry :). It does wonders for whites, doesn't it?

Yay for #3. I still have bloodwork the Dr. ordered that I haven't quite "gotten around to yet." It requires fasting and I've let it go so long I don't even pretend to "accidentally eat breakfast" anymore. Oops, maybe I should get on that. Thanks for the inspiration!

  6. Great job! I really need to get a clothesline going too. I've talked about it for years, but that's as far as I've gotten.

  7. Great week! I love #3 too. I haven't done any of my follow up stuff with the doc and I was in three months ago. Thanks for the reminder. Have a great week!

  8. Great job on #2, that is a struggle for me as well. Good intentions, lack of motivation :)

  9. Thank you for the kind words and all your prayers. It is hard to wallow when I am so surrounded by blessing. God is good to me. I still have my very sad moments, but I am not without comfort and hope.
