Small Successes

FaithButton

It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.

My successes this week:

1. Used up almost all the apples we picked last Thursday, by baking pie, apple crisp and apple maple turkey meatloaf (a family favorite), plus just snacking.

2. Surveyed the hand-me-downs we brought with us when we moved 2 years ago, for Faith. So glad we bothered, she should be all set for another season!!

3. Finished the hoodie I was knitting for Faith. This will not be put away as a Christmas gift, but certainly isn't needed just yet. I'm so please with the way it turned out.

Now it’s your turn! Please share all the small but significant ways you’ve done the right thing this week.

  1. Great work! Your meatloaf sounds interesting--care to post a recipe or an idea of a recipe?

  2. We LOVE apple crisp, my husband makes several every fall and winter!! Great job on the knitting. I intend to learn some day (and have some great friends willing to teach), but I have enough sewing to keep me busy for now. God bless!

  3. hmm---I'm thinking about your meatloaf! Sounds great and we just went apple picking last week so we have some apples in the fridge. Care to share a recipe?

  6. Well, you highlighted a few of my failures - the apples that went bad and were fed to the cow and llamas, the handmedowns I have yet to go through, and Chloe's sweater (which is totally hidden in a corner somewhere, needing sleeves...)! But, good for you!
My small successes are a little more like bailing water in a sinking canoe - helped the hubby dig up the septic, didn't wash dishes for a week while septic tank was under repairs, did a weeks worth of dishes (and all the other house work that requires a septic tank) in one morning, and in the midst of it all, prepared for a huge influx of family for Gpa's memorial service.
    Calgon! Take me away! :)
