Last summer we really didn't have any opportunities to go out and learn fun things to do in the area.
Yesterday, we were able to venture out and discover a great place to go for the day to swim, fish and picnic, Sherando Lake Park.
The kids played in the sand and water. Haley did some fishing. Mike met up with another friend (reconnected through facebook) that he used to be in the Navy with who happened to be vacationing near by. I still didn't get any knitting done, but it was a lovely day!
We took the long way home and drove some of the Blue Ridge Parkway, another adventure we had been wanting to take.
Looks like a great day!
ReplyDeleteJust got caught up on you blog. You must have wondered why I have not commented. The pond reminds me of Kiwanis Beach, Upton!!!! Nice socks. Mike, even though you are returning to work, I hope they give you light duty for at least a week.
